changed into his image

I recently finished teaching a series of lessons from the book, Changed Into His Image, by Jim Berg, for the adult Sunday school class at Greater Vancouver Baptist Church.  This was the second time I’ve gone through this book; for the first time, I was on the other side, listening to the lessons.  I found the lessons quite helpful even this time around, and it showed me how much growing I have yet to do as a Christian.

The objective of this book is to help readers understand the purpose of biblical change, the process of biblical change, and the people involved with biblical change.  It sends a strong warning not to trust our hearts, despite popular advice to, “follow your heart,” because, “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked” (Jer.17:9).  Changes in your life that do not begin with a change in your heart  will not last.  It is not until one “Recognizes the Evil Within,” can lasting change begin.

For those who are teaching through this book, I would like to share the slides that I used for each week.  I hope that it will help you as you prepare your lessons.  Also check out the sermons and slide decks from the author, Jim Berg, himself.
